After receiving a BA in Biology and Computer Science from York, I completed an MSc in Neurophysiological Basis of Behaviour at City of London Polytechnic, followed by the MSc in Medical Statistics at LSHTM. I have worked at the school since 1996.
I am one of six Course Directors for MSc Public Health and generally teach on the Basic Statistics for PHP, Basic Epidemiology and Health Promotion modules with occasional lectures for other modules. I have also provided courses in Medical Statistics at SANCD and PHFI in India.
My research interests include measuring neighbourhood spatial context for older individuals in the UK, weight mangement in primary care, contribution of general practice to health improvement, social and environmental determinants of health, behaviour change, development and evaluationn of complex interventions, ethnicity and health, cardiovascular epidemiology and alcohol consumption and health.
