I am a research microbiologist with over two decades of experience in both clinical diagnostic and research laboratories at the Medical Research Council Unit The Gambia at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (MRCG@LSHTM). My current research is focused on antimicrobial resistance surveillance in bacterial febrile illness in The Gambia with keen interest in microbiology diagnostic capacity building in the subregion and antibiotic stewardship.

I am an adjunct lecturer at the University of The Gambia teaching level 3 General Microbiology.
I give two lectures on the MSc Clinical Bacteriology module on 'Microbiology Laboratory Management' and 'Newer diagnostics for bacterial infections and susceptibility testing'.
Research
My research interest is on antimicrobial surveillance keen on understanding the dynamics of bacterial antimicrobial resistance burden & transmission pathways within the One Health context.
