This year, we are delighted that 15 students, staff and alumni volunteered to run the Cambridge and London Landmarks half marathons to raise money for LSHTM's Scholarship Fund.

Training as a mixed London and Cambridge half marathon group, the running team showed their dedication in February with a 7 am practice run through the sunny streets of London, starting from LSHTM's campus in Keppel Street, through the royal parks.

Cambridge Half Marathon

The historic town of Cambridge is proud to host one of the UK's biggest and most beautiful, closed road Half Marathons, with thousands of runners setting off from Midsummer Common, racing past numerous landmarks during the 13.1-mile race. The course heads through the centre of Cambridge, past the Round Church, Kings College, Fitzwilliam Museum and along The Backs.

On Sunday, 6 March 2022, three current MSc students and two staff members ran the Cambridge Half Marathon.

Chris Wong, Harriet Zych, Nayantara Wijayanandana and Koen Verboeke all completed the race, cheered on by a noisy contingent of LSHTM students who travelled down from London to support their friends.

We are grateful to everyone who sponsored our runners, who raised hundreds of pounds for scholarships and travel grants for talented students from around the world.

London Landmarks Half Marathon

On 3 April, ten runners will represent LSHTM at the London Landmarks Half Marathon. The London Landmarks Half Marathon is a closed road, central London run and is the only half marathon to go through both the City of London and City of Westminster.

Last year's race was a highlight of the LSHTM events calendar. We look forward to cheering on this year's runners.

LSHTM runners will be representing our School and running both these half marathons in 2023. If you are an LSHTM student, former student, staff member or friend of LSHTM, and would like to take part in the:

• Cambridge Half Marathon in March 2023, please register your interest
• London Landmarks Half Marathon in April 2023, please register your interest
• London to Brighton ride in 2023, please register your interest
