As you enter our main Keppel Street building this September, you will notice some works happening on the lower ground floor.
The works are part of a new project aiming to revitalise and modernise the social space at our main campus, creating a more accessible, inclusive and sustainable environment for the entire LSHTM community. This follows feedback from staff and students on our current social space.
The works will replace the current refectory, canteen and bar areas and is scheduled for completion in autumn 2024.
The works will focus on social areas and therefore will not affect the teaching and learning spaces. Inevitably, as is the nature of building works, there will be some short-term disturbance, but we will work closely with our contractors and do all we can to minimise disruptions to your studies.
A 'grab-and-go' catering facility will still be available in our Keppel Street building and for hot food you may wish to use the Seacole Social café at our Tavistock Place site.
To ensure you still have as positive an experience as possible while studying with us, we are reserving a whole area (the North Courtyard) exclusively for students, providing a dedicated space for study and social gatherings. Our Library will also remain open for your studies.
As well as our dedicated on campus study spaces, there are plenty of great options to study near LSHTM including The Senate House Library and café, situated opposite our main building, the UCL Library and the British Library, both within walking distance of LSHTM.
There are also a number of cafés nearby, including Store Street cafés, the British Museum and Waterstones’ café which are popular and come recommended by our students.
Further information can be found in our frequently asked questions below.
