Dr Natasha Howard, Lecturer Global Health and Conflict at the London School of Hygiene & Ttopical Medicine. Before joining the School in 2005, Natasha was reproductive health technical officer for WHO country office in Myanmar and focusing on initiatives in making pregnancy safer, newborn care, and malaria in pregnancy. In 2003, she worked on malaria in pregnancy research with HealthNet Int'l in Afghanistan. In 2001-2003, Natasha set up a malaria control programme for Population Services International (PSI) in Myanmar, conducting vector, socio-economic research and marketing research and developing pre-packaged malaria diagnostic kits and mefloquine-artesunate treatment packs for use by private general practitioners
Dr Tejendra Pherali, Senior Lecturer in Education and International Development, UCL-IOEis broadly interested in critical debates on international development with a particular focus on education in emergencies, post-conflict educational reforms, the role of education in peacebuilding, political movements and social change, political economy of education and critical pedagogies. His research, teaching and consultancy focus mainly on interactions between education and conflict and post-conflict peacebuilding in fragile environments. He is also the Coordinator for Network for Research in Education, Conflict and Emergencies and convene the annual Education in Conflict and Emergencies seminar series.
