Saviours or Stalkers? Mobiles and Global Health

The School is delighted to be taking part in the Pint of Science Festival again this year! Here are the details of our second talk in the series:

Saviours or Stalkers? Mobiles and Global Health

Speakers include Chris Grundy (Lecturer in Geographical Information Systems) and Christopher Jarvis (PhD Candidate in Medical Statistics).

Mobiles can transform what we know about the world, especially in terms of the data they collect. Two billion people worldwide use smart phones for internet, taking photographs, and chatting on social media. But do we understand what they are really capable of? Join cartographer Chris Grundy and data whizz Christopher Jarvis to find out how easy it is to be part of this smart phone-enabled data revolution, and what the implications are for public health.

Doors at 7pm, event starts 7:30pm
