A Public Value Approach to Contracting for Healthcare
Summary: As the commissioning landscape in the NHS changes this will have a dramatic impact on the approach to contracting and procurement of healthcare.
I will demonstrate that a public value management perspective provides a fresh approach with its emphasis on the "strategic triangle", responding to societal rather than individual needs, the role of public managers as "explorers", networked governance and co-production.
In this talk I will explore how these elements can be applied to contracting and procurement of healthcare and the benefits that this offers over traditional methods.
