New Faces of Leprosy

Diana Lockwood, retired Emeritus Professor of Tropical Medicine, will offer insight into the importance of the New Faces for Leprosy project. Also present will be special guest Tom Bradley a documentary photographer and artist specialising in leprosy.  We hope that the project will challenge the conventional perception of leprosy, focusing on the positive message that leprosy can be cured and that people affected by leprosy can go on to reclaim and rebuild their lives.

About the speaker

Diana Lockwood is an infectious disease physician and was until recently the only UK leprologist, providing a national referral service for leprosy patients in Britain. She has also worked overseas in Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and in the Blue Peter Research Centre we set up in Hyderabad. Diana was the editor of Leprosy Review from 1996 to 2012 and lead a global leprosy research team at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
