Medical Anthropology: Possibilities, Past & Present

Dr. Farrah Jarral has a diverse experience in health, anthropology, and broadcasting. She has worked for the WHO in Cairo, researching and writing about stigma surrounding mental illness in the Eastern Mediterranean region. After studying Medical Anthropology at Harvard, and several other projects, she is now working part-time as an inner-city GP in a very diverse part of London.

Farrah will be drawing on her recent experience broadcasting a 10-part series for Radio 4 on the history of anthropology, and her experience in working as a medical professional, to demonstrate how health practitioners have been drawing on social studies to provide more holistic healthcare in London and beyond today.
