GOAL to host Ebola: The Lessons Learned Conference
GOAL will host an Ebola Lesson Learning Conference, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation and MSF
Through this conference, key personnel from the emergency response will share and document lessons learned on emerging and promising practices to contribute to the development of new service standards and protocols for infectious disease outbreaks.
The outcome will be a discussion document capturing the key lessons, complimented with interactive web based tools to serve as guidance for future outbreaks.
Breakout workshops will be held each day. Day One will concentrate on strengthening clinical management of patients, design standards of treatment centres, personal protective equipment. A high profile speaker will open the conference on day one.Day Two will concentrate on community initiatives to reduce transmission with opening Key Note Speaker Prof. David Heymann, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine: Communities at the forefront of the Ebola Response.
