An Evening with Professor Elizabeth Anionwu

Professor Elizabeth Anionwu (PhD, CBE, FRCN), Emeritus Professor of Nursing at the University of West London, is a trailblazer for Black and minority ethnic women in academia. From growing up in care to becoming a celebrated international nurse, Elizabeth has held several senior executive roles including Vice-Chairperson of the successful Mary Seacole Memorial Statue Appeal, to Honorary Advisor to the Chief Nursing Officer's Black and Minority Ethnic Advisory Group. She was awarded a CBE in 2001 and a Fellowship of the Royal College of Nursing (FRCN) in 2004.

Join us for an evening of discussion with Elizabeth, where she will reflect on her professional and personal journey, from her experiences as a Black female academic to her campaigning activities for the improved treatment for those affected by sickle cell disease.

This event forms part of the Queen Nzingha Lecture Series, facilitated by Black History Walks.
