The burden of mental disorders and access to care for internally displaced persons in Ukraine

There are approximately one million internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Ukraine due to the armed conflict with pro-Russian separatist forces in the East of the country. IDP exposure to conflict and forced displacement has led to concerns about their mental health needs. This presentation will give results from the first study measuring the burden of mental disorders and access to services among IDPs in Ukraine. It will also discuss plans for an intervention study on the effectiveness of mental health and psychosocial support services for IDPs in Ukraine.
