Bridging the SDGs to optimize health-related social protection
COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of having universal social protection systems in place alongside health system preparedness and resilience in tackling complex and interrelated health, well-being and human rights issues. The 2020 SPARKS conference will gather a network of global leaders in public policy and research to facilitate the exchange of knowledge on social protection and health.
The event will provide an overview of the current evidence base for health-related social protection interventions, the gaps in research, and the future outlook on social protection globally. The conference will include representatives of several international organizations, including ILO, WHO and WFP, academia; civil society; and governmental institutions.
