Always an interesting and often controversial speaker, Ben will deliver a fitting celebration of the life and passion for electronic health data research of our much-missed colleague Adrian.
Dr Ben Goldacre is an an alumnus of LSHTM and now works at the University of Oxford on the interface of informatics, epidemiology and evidence based medicine. His group works on various problems including variation in care, better uses of routinely collected electronic health data, evidence-based social policy, access to clinical trial data, efficient trial design, and retracted papers. He has been recently appointed chair of the Health Technology Advisory Board for the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, co-founded the AllTrials campaign and works widely in public engagement, writing and broadcasting for a general audience on problems in evidence based medicine.
