A clinical research professional with over twenty years of experience in clinical research in many therapeutic areas including Malaria, Meningitis, Polio, Ebola virus disease, COVID_19 and Human papilloma virus ( HPV), the virus that causes cervical cancer. I have monitored and coordinated many clinical trials for CROs, research and academic institutions in many countries in Africa, including Ghana, Gambia, Tanzania, Gabon, Burkina Faso and Sierra Leone.
I monitored for IQVIA (formerly Quintiles) from 2009 to 2013. I conducted site assessments, site initiation, interim monitoring and close out visits on malaria vaccines trials in Burkina Faso, Gabon, Ghana and Tanzania. I also monitored for PPD of Theormo Fisher Scientific from 2016 to 2018 also on malaria vaccine trials in Ghana and Burkina Faso. As a freelance, I monitored a polio vaccine trial at the MRC-Gambia unit for one year. I also did feasibility studies/site assessment for a global follicular lymphoma study in Ghana, Burkina Faso and Senegal for MCT, a CRO based in the middle East but now operating in West Africa.
I am well knowledgeable in regulatory and ethics committees’ requirements in Sub-Saharan Africa. I also have experience working with FDA inspectors. I helped to prepare the Mambolo site in Sierra Leone for a FDA inspection of the PREVAC/PREVAC-UP Ebola vaccine trial in Jan 2023. The site passed the inspection without any major findings.
I am currently the study manager of the GLOBE HPV study in Sierra Leone. The study aims to provide data on the burden of HPV among girls and women in South Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. Sierra Leone is one of the participating sites in Sub-Saharan Africa. I am also the trial manager of a vaccine trial against HPV transmission. This vaccine trial seeks to assess the reduction of viral infectivity and potential transmission after one dose of a nonvalent HPV vaccine among HPV positive women between the ages 18-29 years in Sierra Leone.
As someone with experience in monitoring, coordinating and managing clinical trials I am suitable for monitoring or clinical project management roles.
