I am a Statistical Demographer specialising in quantitative methods, demographic modelling, and population health. I hold an MSc in Social Research Methods and Statistics from the University of Manchester, where I also worked as a Postgraduate Researcher in Social Statistics.
Before joining LSHTM as a Research Fellow, I taught quantitative methods and statistical programming at the University of Los Andes, Universidad del Rosario, the National University of Colombia, and the University of Manchester. I have also worked with international organisations including the OECD (Paris) and the Inter-American Development Bank (Washington DC) on analytical projects related to population dynamics and social inequalities.
My research focuses on mortality and fertility analysis, demographic estimation, and the development of statistical tools for understanding population change, particularly in data‑limited or data‑quality‑constrained settings.

Teaching
I have extensive experience teaching quantitative methods, demographic analysis, and statistical programming at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My teaching portfolio includes intermediate and advanced econometrics, biostatistics, population dynamics and projections, quantitative evaluation of policies, interventions and experiments, and the measurement of social and health inequalities. I have also taught theory and methods in demography, as well as courses in statistical modelling and applied data analysis.
I have delivered teaching and training at the University of Los Andes, Universidad del Rosario, the National University of Colombia, and the University of Manchester, with experience supporting students from diverse disciplinary backgrounds in the application of statistical and demographic tools for research and policy.
