Research Student - DrPH - Infectious & Tropical Diseases

United Kingdom

Oyeronke Oyebanji is a DrPH candidate. For her Organisational Policy Analysis (OPA), she carried out a partnership analysis of the CEPI-funded Lassa epidemiological study in Nigeria. She is now focused on a feasibility of Nigeria's vaccine manufacturing strategy, drawing comparisons from India and Thailand.

In her day job, Oyeronke is a public health professional. She currently leads country and regional engagement for Lassa vaccine development at the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI). Her most recent role was as Chief of Staff to the Deputy CEO at CEPI, covering policy, partnerships, and access functions.

Before joining CEPI, Oyeronke served as Technical Assistant for Policy and Partnerships to the Director General of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) from 2016 to 2020. While at NCDC, she played a critical role in developing policies, managing partnerships, implementing International Health Regulations (IHR) projects and activities, and executing NCDC's Strengthening States for Health Security strategy.

In 2021, Oyeronke worked for the COVAX Strategic Coordination Office, where she managed projects to enable equitable access to COVID-19 vaccines worldwide.

Oyeronke is a Senior Fellow at the Aspen Institute and co-convener of Public Health Incubation Hub, a network of nearly 1,000 young public health professionals in Nigeria, where she contributes to the empowerment and mentorship of the next generation of public health leaders.
