I joined LSHTM in October 2024, having left Zimbabwe in 2022. There I worked as an HIV Pharmacy Specialist and Clinical Researcher, mainly in HIV trials and herbal medicine.
Affiliations
Teaching
I am Co-Module Organiser of HIV 3174, an intensive face-to-face Masters level module. I also teach topics on Herbal medicine risk management and HIV supply chains on the same.
In the past I have been involved in the development and delivery of interprofessional HIV education and training modules for preregistration medical, pharmacy and nursing trainees and students in Zimbabwe, Malawi and Uganda.
Research
In my current role, I collaborate with collegues at Gadjah Mada University, Sebelas Maret University and The Kirby Institute, to design and implement interventions aimed at improving antenatal screening and treatment of syphilis, HIV and hepatitis B in Indonesia (the MENJAGA and DUALIS cluster randomised trials).
I also have special interest in the safe integration of conventional medicine with herbal medicines. Having previously established and led a research group conducting related qualitative and quantitative research, I am keen to develop new collaborations with colleagues interested in leveraging patient-centred, participatory approaches, as well as data science and AI to develop robust clinical herbal medicine evidence grounded in real-world patient experiences.
