Research

Louie’s current research interests are in the theorisation of nursing work within the context of sociotechnical interactions in technologically advanced medical settings using posthuman and new materialist approaches, and in the use of grounded theory and abductive analysis techniques as research methods. Funded by the Royal College of Nursing and the Worshipful Company of Barbers, his dissertation explores the sociotechnical interactions during extracorporeal organ support in paediatric intensive care environments.
