My research focuses on infectious diseases in pregnancy. I am currently working on modelling respiratory syncytical virus (RSV) maternal vaccination in low- and middle-income countries. I previously modelled the impact of malaria in pregnancy on maternal anaemia across sub-Saharan Africa.
For my PhD, I assessed predictors of first-trimester malaria and its causal effects on pregnancy and birth outcomes in Kenya, Zambia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I also worked in China working on reducing HIV infection among Chinese men who have sex with men and applied a national surveillance dataset to estimate and predict real-time influenza trends in the United States.
