I work as a Clinical Research Fellow and a Project Manager of the Maternal Immunization Readiness Network Initiative project based at the Hararghe Health Research in Harar, Ethiopia. I am a medical doctor and a Chevening scholar who holds an MSc in Sexual and Reproductive Health Research from LSHTM. I have worked as a General Practitioner for three years at Dejen Primary Hospital and Debre Markos Comprehensive Referral Hospitals in East Gojam, Ethiopia. I was an academic staff of Debre Markos University and an Associate Researcher at the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) for 2 years before joining the Hararghe Health Research partnership of the London School.
I have worked as one of the project coordinators of the project Sexual Health Education for Better Awareness (SHEBA). I have also won a grant and managed the Sexual Health Education Matters (SHE Matters) project implemented in Eastern Gojam with an aim to mitigate the burden of child marriage in Ethiopia.
I am an alumnus of the Young Leader’s program of Young African Leaders Initiative, East Africa, Women Deliver Young Leaders Program, Rise UP Youth Champions Initiative, and the Mandela Washington Fellowship program.
