Role: Project Coordinator for DIB, DCD & CRD (ITD Faculty)
Area: Department of Disease Control, Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases, Department of Clinical Research, Department of Infection Biology.

I have been working here at LSHTM since October 2018. Currently, I am a Project Coordinator working with multiple Academics/PIs managing the day to day set up of their portfolio of Research Grants/Projects and Funders, submitting LOI’s & RCP costings and other relevant paperwork for proposal applications and awarded funding. Also, completing recruitment of staff paperwork, and liaising with HR with regards to dealing with staff contract renewals/extensions and submitting updated payroll variation forms (PVF’s) on the online system.
I work across the Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases (ITD) in Department of Clinical Research (CRD) and Department of Disease Control (DCD) as required, but my current home Department is Infection Biology (DIB).
I am a Qualified Bookkeeper and have had various Full time Roles for over 30yrs as follows:
All Round Sole Accounts Administrator @ an Interior Design & Space Planning Company, 12 years.
Programme Administrator & Events Organiser @ Institute of Education (IOE), 5 years.
Department Finance Officer @ Institute of Education (IOE), 8 years.
Research Operations Administrator @ University College London (UCL), 3 years.
Short Course Administrator @ LSHTM, 4 Months.
Project Administrator @ LSHTM, 2 years 11 Months.
Project Coordinator @ LSHTM, 2 years.
Communication is the key to all query/interaction.
Never just assume always ask and confirmation in writing is good, so that the other party can respond to correct any misunderstanding etc.
