Dr Arjun Chandna
Clinical Assistant Professor - NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer
United Kingdom
I am a Clinical Lecturer at LSHTM and a Specialist Registrar in Infectious Diseases and Medical Microbiology with the UK National Health Service. I am passionate about using research to develop capacity for clinical infection services.
My research focuses on the syndromic management of febrile illness and specifically early recognition of children at risk of progression to sepsis. Between 2019-2023 I was based at the Cambodia Oxford Medical Research Unit within Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap, where I completed my DPhil, supported by a Wellcome Trust Doctoral Training Fellowship.
I continue as an Honorary Visiting Research Fellow at the University of Oxford and am a member of the team leading the South and Southeast Asian Community-based Trials Network (SEACTN), which aims to develop and evaluate pragmatic, context-appropriate tools to help healthcare providers better manage patients with febrile illnesses and guide resource stewardship. I work in close collaboration with colleagues across the MORU Tropical Health Network, Médecins Sans Frontières, and the Department of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford.
