I am a physician graduated from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia. I began my career at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Peru, where I contributed to generating primary data, developing clinical guidelines, and preparing policy briefs to support national health decision-making. I later joined the Institute for Clinical Effectiveness and Health Policy (IECS), a global health NGO in Argentina, conducting health technology assessments, systematic reviews, and cost-effectiveness analyses across several Latin American countries, including Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, and Uruguay.
I pursued postgraduate training at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), completing both the Master’s and Diploma programs in Tropical and International Health. This experience reinforced my commitment to infectious diseases and tropical medicine which led me to clinical practice within the NHS. I have worked in the Department of Infectious Diseases and Tropical Medicine in the north east of England over the past 5 years. Additionally, in 2025, I have completed a Diploma in Cost-effectiveness of Health Technologies at the University of York.
Alongside my clinical work, I have founded HAMPI, a global health consultancy based in Peru. Through HAMPI, I have collaborated with the Peruvian NIH and partnered with researchers at the Global Health Department of University College London (UCL) on a grant-funded project employing qualitative fieldwork to develop frameworks for understanding violence against women in Indigenous populations in Peru.
