Seminar
Antimicrobial resistance in Neisseria gonorrhoeae: the road ahead
Neisseria gonorrhoeae, the cause of the sexually transmitted infection gonorrhea, is an urgent public health threat due to the burden of the disease and the extent of antimicrobial resistance. Advances in each of the key areas for addressing antimicrobial resistance—novel therapeutics, diagnostics, prevention strategies, and surveillance—raise questions about how best to develop and deploy them. The speaker will discuss these advances and questions as well as the challenges in determining the optimal path forward.
