MSc Public Health - Health Services Management streamContact Zeynab Diop
I obtained a Medical Doctor degree in Senegal. My medical curriculum also took place in France, where I studied medicine for 3 years. These experiences led me to reflect on quality of care in Senegal, health inequalities especially in access to care, and social determinants of health in general.
Research interests or career goals
Reduce inequalities in access to health, and overall improve quality of care in my country and beyond. I hope to study the impact of healthcare providers payment methods in improving quality of care.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
My passion in health inequalities grew along my studies, but I felt that my medical curriculum didn’t give me enough tools to act upon them. I decided to study the MSc Public Health to further my knowledge on determinants of health, and gain practical skills to tackle health issues on a larger scale. I chose LSHTM because of the excellent reputation of the School and its lecturers, the focus on all levels of income (low-, middle- and high-income countries), and the chance to meet amazing people from all over the world.
