MSc Control of Infectious DiseasesContact Tallulah Maidment
I have recently graduated from the University of Birmingham after completing my undergraduate degree in Human Biology. I am also the Research Director at CERT Scotland – a policy group campaigning for contraceptive reform in Scotland which is something I feel very passionately about.
Research interests or career goals
I have a keen interest in sexual health, in particular, the control and surveillance of STIs. Since starting my course, my interest in outbreak control has been further developed through my epidemiology modules and having lectures with world-renowned researchers in the field. In the future, I hope to implement my knowledge in low-income settings while working for both non-governmental and governmental agencies. I hope my career will take me around the world.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose the MSc Control of Infectious Disease as the course was unique and would enable me to combine my fascination with microbiology and infection but apply it into more of a public health setting. I also wanted to continue my studies in a challenging yet stimulating environment with infinite opportunities so LSHTM seemed like the perfect place!
