MSc Veterinary EpidemiologyContact Stephanie Harris
I attended Cornell University where I earned a B.S. in Animal Science and Biology. I stayed at Cornell for an additional four years, earning my DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) in 2017. I then worked in small animal clinical practice for three years until deciding to pursue this master’s.
Research interests/career goals
While there are many aspects of clinical practice I enjoy, I want to transition to a non clinical role focusing more on public and population health.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
This is a joint program provided by LSHTM and the Royal Veterinary College, both of which are top institutions in their fields. This is a very unique program and, although the focus is veterinary epidemiology, the interdisciplinary nature of the program means that I am in classes alongside students in other degrees with many different educational and professional backgrounds. I’ve also appreciated that despite this year being entirely online, the enthusiasm and passion for teaching among the lecturers has really been apparent and they are working so hard to make sure that the online learning is as comparable to in person learning as possible.
