Clinical Trials by Distance Learning
I graduated with a Bachelors of Medicine and Bachelors of Surgery of Gulu University in 2016, after which I joined Mulago National Referral Hospital for Internship training. I then joined Uganda-Case Western Reserve University Research Collaboration as a Research Medical Officer. I was exposed to Clinical Trials and epidemiological studies conducted at the site. It’s from here that I picked interest then sourced out for a research related course that I would do at convenience as I continue with my work.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
Following consultation from my Mentor Assoc Prof David Meya, he advised for the choice of MSc Clinical Trials from LSHTM. I was awarded a Commonwealth Scholarship from UK-DFID to fund my studies. Online studies are very flexible, as you study at convenience, and from anywhere so long as you have access to the internet. The study materials are in an easy to understand language which facilitate self-paced learning. This programme has given me a better insight into Clinical Trials and has significantly improved my performance at work. I look forward to applying for a PhD fellowship in research following completion of the course.
