MSc Reproductive & Sexual Health ResearchContact Phoebe Chan
I am currently an intercalating medical student from the University of Hong Kong. I am particularly interested in pursuing adolescent health and how healthcare access, comprehensive sexual education, and social determinants of health at young ages affect the life course of reproductive and sexual health. I am also fascinated by global health dynamics and inequity, and how global policy shapes national and international health equity, particularly for SRH outcomes across high to low-income countries.
Research interests or career goals
I am hoping to return to Hong Kong with the skillset needed to undertake research applying all I have learnt at LSHTM, and to continue my medical education, exploring a future with obstetrics and gynaecology.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose this programme with an interest in how individual sexual and reproductive health decisions are both impacted by, and coalesce to affect SRH policy on a broader public and global health scale. LSHTM provides the diverse and international platform to gain an international perspective, as well as the research skillsets needed to assess the issues and interventions most needed within my local context.
