Educational/professional background

Prior to joining LSHTM, I completed my BSc in Social Sciences at University College London (UCL). I undertook interdisciplinary modules in research methodology and population health. I developed a strong foundation in key public health concepts (social determinants of health, epidemiological transition, population ageing) alongside fundamental quantitative research methodological training. This prepared me well for postgraduate study at LSHTM. My desire to read Public Health grew and it became clear early on that I would specialise in this field for my MSc, and more specifically, in Health Services Research and Health Economics.

Research interests or career goals

My heart is set on a career path that lies at the intersection of research and consultancy as I believe that is where I can create better patient experiences and outcomes, globally. In the future, I would like to develop further expertise in Patient Reported Outcomes (PROs), Real World Evidence, Health Economics and Market Access.

I am passionate about Health Services Research and Health Economics, and I am interested in improving the quality of health-care and the effectiveness of health services delivery, and the use of Patient Reported Outcomes Measures (PROMs).

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM because of its renowned global reputation as a leader in the education and training of tomorrow’s public health experts. The MSc in Public Health from LSHTM is recognised globally and holds a lot of weight. From my experience so far, I understand why – the training in statistics, epidemiology, social research, and health economics has been top-notch and makes me feel equipped and confident in applying public health principles to the public health issues I am interested in.

Do get in touch if you need advice on how to apply to LSHTM and submit a stellar application, choosing your fields of interest and specialising further, making the most of your time at the School or any other queries.
