I am a medical doctor living in Abuja, Nigeria. Prior to studying at LSHTM, I worked with the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria as a medical officer with keen in health resource management. Also, being a manager in two famous and leading private hospitals in Nigeria opened my eyes on health policy issues and need for planning for future in Africa continent. I have always eager to contribute to nation building through professional skill development and application for common benefits.
I had MBBS from University of Benin, Nigeria in 2011 and had National award through NYSC in 2014. My career development has been through training and workshops. I am member of committee on lead poison eradication and prevention in FMOH.
Research interests or career goals
I am interested in research especially around the economic implications of mental health illness among youths in developing countries. My prospect is to become a PhD holder in health economics, a dream I will follow through. I want to help in health resource management and distribution throughout Africa and to develop capable human resource in this regard.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
I have long wish to acquire advance skills of analysis in health economics and policy from a renowned university which LSE and LSHTM satisfied. These are world class institutions with sound international reputation in health economics and policy. The MSc Health Policy, Planning & Financing is an all-inclusive course with which I can satisfy my urge for advance analytical skills in health economics with blend of policy for decision making. With on the field insight I got now, the MSc is far more encompassing and promising than I could imagine.
