Educational/professional background

I graduated from the university of Yaoundé in Cameroon in 2017 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. I then worked with the Ministry of Public health In Cameroon as a GP in a remote district. Rising conflicts in the area led me to work with the International Medical corps as a humanitarian medical doctor. I then later served with Africa Humanitarian Action and then Doctors without Borders, providing health and nutritional care to refugees and internally displaced persons.

Research interests or career goals

My experience in the field made me develop a passion for humanitarian health care in the tropics, so my career goals and research interests are geared towards providing adequate and timely care to populations in distress in areas hit by conflicts and war. I intend to lead interventional research and projects with innovative ideas that should improve tropical medical care.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

LSHTM is a well renowned in the field of public health and tropical medicine with many leaders and innovators in the field. There is always research going on in many fields, particularly tropical medicine which I am interested in. LSHTM is a global leader in public health with an array of teaching experts who are very approachable and welcoming. Students from all over the world are at LSHTM, giving me opportunity to network at international level.
