MSc Public Health – General streamContact Maria Zavala
I am a registered nurse specialized in intensive care, where I have been working for the last three years in the NHS. Alongside my job, I volunteered with Doctors of The World UK where I gain some understanding of the importance of public health interventions and the difficulties migrants face to access health serviced that provide them. I also worked in Sierra Leone as a nurse. All these experiences made me value the importance of prevention and increased my interest in the public health.
Research interests or career goals
I am really interested in the prevention of infectious diseases specially in low and middle income countries and I wish to further my knowledge in those areas in order to work in international health organization.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
I studied the Diploma in Tropical Nursing in LSHTM in 2016 and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the university and the teaching environment.
