Educational/professional background

I’m a Speciality Registrar in Public Health and currently undertaking my MSc at LSHTM as part of the UK Faculty of Public Health (FPH) speciality training programme.

Prior to starting my studies at LSHTM, I was working on the COVID-19 response in London and supporting some of the UK's hardest-hit communities to respond and recover from the pandemic. However, my previous public health experience also includes developing strategic approaches to improving migrant health, coordinating international work on health emergency and disaster risk management, and working to address health system strengthening challenges across multiple countries and contexts.

Research interests or career goals

I am particularly passionate about adolescent health – from sexual and reproductive health and rights through to emerging NCD risk factors – with a focus on how early intervention and prevention can improve health outcomes across the life course.

Studying at LSHTM provides me with the opportunity to explore these interests in more depth, while also developing a wider public health skillset that will serve me well in the future – no matter where my career takes me.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I chose LSHTM for its global reputation and the opportunity to learn from experts who are actively engaged in shaping the public health research agenda. One of the highlights for me has been the diversity of personal and professional experience among both the staff and my fellow students, which has challenged me to think differently and more critically about a range of public health issues.
