Global Health Policy by Distance LearningContact Kelsey Yaremko
I studied at the University of Alberta where I received a diploma in dental hygiene in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science degree with dental hygiene specialization in 2009. Currently I work in private practice as a registered dental hygienist, where I am always eager to help people achieve good oral health and a great smile. I am also a member of the board of directors and an active volunteer with a charitable organization called Kindness In Action. We provide dental health services free of charge to those in need in many countries around the world, something I am incredibly passionate about.
Research interests or career goals
The health policy world is fairly new to me, and I am still exploring my options on where I would like to take my studies for a future career. I enjoy being a part of community level health interventions and working directly with people. Ultimately my career goals would involve working with a global NGO in the future.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
Studying Global Health Policy by distance learning with LSHTM made the most sense for my lifestyle, which involves shift work and lots of travel. After extensive research into other similar programs I ultimately decided on LSHTM for the flexibility it offered. Having the ability to study at my own pace from anywhere in the world, while interacting with tutors and still belonging to a community were the most enticing and exciting elements of the program that struck my interest.
