MSc Public Health – General streamContact Isaac Devoid
I hold a Bachelors in Business Administration focused in management from Castleton University, and wasn’t exposed to public health until I moved to Botswana to work on the HIV/AIDS epidemic with the United Stated Peace Corps. In Botswana, I worked on a variety of HIV prevention and care projects with NGOs and government stakeholders such as grassroots campaigns, supply chain management of health commodities, and gender based violence interventions.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests are in measuring the evidence and cost effectiveness of interventions that relate to HIV prevention and care as well as other sexual health related issues. Throughout my career, I’d like to combine my management background with my public health knowledge to effectively carry out such evidenced based interventions in resource limited settings.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
Contemporary global health crises require complex solutions from a diverse range of backgrounds and professions. LSHTM values the diverse experiences of its students. At LSHTM, you study with students from across the globe, which has challenged my perspectives on a variety of public health topics, but also made in and out of classroom discussions fun and engaging. Furthermore, the staff at LSHTM are world-renowned, but sincerely committed to the development of their students.
