MSc Medical MicrobiologyContact Imogen Smith
I did a BSc in bioveterinary science, which gave a very wide scope over a number of areas of veterinary research, with my final research project using bioinformatics to study variation in B. anthracis sp.
Research interests or career goals
My main research interests are into new methods of treatment and diagnosis of bacterial disease in both humans and animals, with my interests narrowing as the course progresses.
Why LSHTM/my programme
I chose this programme largely due to the high level of lab content, as it wasn't something I got a lot of opportunity to develop in undergrad due to the broad nature of the programme and COVID. I chose LSHTM due to its high impact across the world in several different areas, and the expertise of teaching staff, allowing for global networking and strong teaching at the edge of current understanding.
