Educational/professional background
I completed my undergraduate BS and BA degrees in Psychology and Anthropology at the University of North Carolina in 2017. I have since worked as English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher in Spain.
Research interests or career goals
I am particularly interested in issues regarding gender, specifically LGBTQIA+ health, as well as gendered health disparities in displaced populations (e.g. immigrants, asylum seekers, refugees).
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
On top of being a dream school for me, LSHTM is one of the only schools that offers such a focused degree on reproductive and sexual health. I wanted the opportunity to dive fully into these topics and the added benefit of world-renowned faculty really solidified my choice.
Before joining LSHTM, I had no prior experience in public health so I understand what it’s like to come in with an outside perspective. Additionally, I speak Spanish as well as English if you prefer to communicate in that language!
