I graduated from University of Sussex in 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science. Through my dissertation I was able to explore the role of gut microbiome on the development of neurogenerative diseases. This fuelled my interest in microbes resulting in my decision to study Medical Microbiology at LSHTM.
Research interests or career goals
My research interests lie in understanding the role microorganisms play in pathogenesis, and I am keen on learning about the diagnosis and the treatment of pathogens that are significant to the current public health.
Why I chose LSHTM/ my programme
I hope to one day be part of a research group that is contributing to eradicate the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria, or any neglected tropical diseases worldwide, so good health and wellbeing can be available to everyone on this planet. This is why I chose LSHTM as it has high international connections worldwide with research being conducted over 100 countries, and not only is LSHTM renowned for its research, but the programme itself also prepares you with valuable laboratory skills required to work in a clinical setting as well.
