MSc Public Health for DevelopmentContact Grace Muguro
My educational background is in Public Health. My previous work focussed on clinical trials and preventive medicine by use of prophylaxes to evade infectious diseases. Most of the projects I was engaged in targeted high risk and vulnerable populations such as adolescent girls and young women.
Research interests or career goals
I am passionate about preventive medicine and the reproductive health of adolescents. I will therefore be working towards addressing some of the challenges faced by young people in Sub Saharan Africa and advocating for favourable health outcomes.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM for its global recognition in matters of public health research in developing countries. I wanted to be in a community that focuses on my area of interest and where I can have some reflections, share, and learn from other people’s experiences. Having the privilege to network with globally respected researchers is something I looked forward to. Particularly, I chose MSc Public Health for Development to gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing developing countries and gain an insight on how to address them.
