MSc Veterinary EpidemiologyContact Gabriella Di Pol
I am a vet student from the University of Bristol, intercalating the MSc between years three and four of my veterinary degree.
Research interests or career goals
I have always been interested in one health, in particular zoonotic disease control and policy making. I think that there is much for allied disciplines to learn from each other and am keen for increased collaborative approaches to health. When I complete my veterinary education, I hope to go into large animal practice to gain some hands-on experience before combining these two interests and pursuing a career in public health.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
I chose the MSc Veterinary Epidemiology due to its interdisciplinary perspective. Coming from a purely veterinary undergraduate degree, already I feel that I have learnt as much from the varied student population as on the course itself. I chose this MSc in particular as it provides a strong grounding in the quantitative aspects of research, methods that can be applied almost anywhere in the fields of animal and human health. The opportunity to learn from global experts about their particular areas of research is inspiring and unequalled.
