Educational/professional background

I graduated from Dickinson College in the United States with a self-developed major in global health. Upon graduation, I worked as a regional Research, Monitoring and Evaluation Fellow with Population Services International in Johannesburg, South Africa. Afterwards, I worked in the UNAIDS Middle East and North Africa regional office as a Programme Officer in Cairo, Egypt.

Research interests or career goals

As a student liaison officer for the MARCH Centre, I am passionate about maternal, adolescent, reproductive and child health. My additional research interests include HIV/AIDS. My career goal is to work internationally with global health organisations. I aspire to work towards health equity, serving marginalised populations.

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

I was drawn to LSHTM because of its international reputation and its extensive collaboration with NGOs and international agencies. I chose the Public Health for Development programme for its focus on peer learning through seminars delivered by students with diverse work experience in LMICs. The programme has a small number of students compared to other programmes, which fosters tight-knit and supportive communities.
