MSc Public Health - Health Services Management streamContact Cidalia Eusebio
I am a specialist intensive care nurse with several years of experience in cardiothoracic care. I provide care to patients that required advance care and monitoring due to their critical illness or complex surgery. Most patients will be sedated, ventilated, on continuous special drugs that support their hemodynamic status. Those patients can also require further complex medical devices that required expert nursing care. Not only the knowledge and technical experience is required by also communication skills to be able to support families and patients through this difficult period.
Research interests or career goals
Beyond my clinical work, I have a special interest in research and following my NIHR/HEE internship I have been collaborating in several multidisciplinary research projects in cardiothoracic intensive care. Other areas of interest focus on nursing workforce strategy, development and their impact on health systems. For that reason, I am an ambassador for the WHO Nursing Now Campaign 2020. In my clinical area I have been involved and developed quality and service improvement projects as well as innovation in healthcare. I am a Fulbright and HMS/MIT Bootcamp alumni. After my master's degree, I want to work in an international organization focusing on health system strengthening or pursue a PhD.
Why I chose LSHTM/my course
Undoubtedly LSHTM is one of the best schools of public health, therefore, I could not choose anywhere else. Besides, it also offers a part-time option, which, allows me to continue working part-time to support myself financially. As well as access to outstanding professors and research academics, LSHTM offers a curriculum adaptable to your interests. My stream is Health Services Management, which allows me to study management of health systems in detail.
