Educational/professional background

I am a US medical student intercalating the MSc between my third and fourth years of medical school. In 2018, I completed a BA in Liberal Studies and French and a BSc in Biology at the University of Houston. 

Research interests or career goals

In my medical training, I have sought out opportunities to develop my interests in global health, service learning, and physician advocacy. By combining the analytical skills from my course with my clinical background, I aim to propose policy recommendations targeting nutrition improvement efforts for underserved populations abroad and in the US, and to plan interventions that can directly benefit my patients and their communities. 

Why I chose LSHTM/my programme

LSHTM is a premier international institution for public and global health research and one of the few in the world with a specialised global health nutrition course. Its position within the academic hub of Bloomsbury and the vibrant, diverse city of London allowed me to learn as much outside the classroom as within.
