Educational/professional background
I completed my BSc in Global Health at Georgetown University, where I had opportunities to build qualitative research skills in India and the Philippines. Prior to LSHTM, I worked at the New York Immigration Coalition, where I supported advocacy to expand health coverage to all New Yorkers regardless of immigration status and evaluated a COVID-19 vaccine outreach program for refugee, immigrant, and migrant populations in New York City.
Research Interests/Career goals
I am interested in learning about the connections between people, animals, and our environment, and about the effects of climate change on infectious diseases, especially in populations that are disproportionately impacted. I look forward to seeing how the MSc will continue to shape my career goals.
Why I chose LSHTM/my programme
I chose LSHTM because of the endless opportunities to learn from students and faculty of diverse backgrounds and research interests. Through this program, I hope to build statistical and epidemiological skills so that I can critically examine the issues that affect my community and contribute to the elimination of health inequalities worldwide.
