Educational/professional background

I am a medical officer currently working as a research clinician on a vaccine trail in The Gambia. When I started my current job about a year ago, I was very new to research. I was given the necessary training to perform my duties but I knew a formal training in the conduct of epidemiological research will make me a more complete researcher.

Why I chose LSHTM/my course

The MSc Epidemiology by distance learning was the perfect opportunity to learn from a research institution with world class reputation while still getting practical experience at my work site. It was an opportunity to develop my research skills in order to gain the confidence to be a better researcher and to be of better service to my organisation. So far it has been a very good experience for me. As a family man, I appreciate the fact that study materials have been designed in such a way that I am able to move at my own pace hence making it easy to juggle my studies with family time and my work. I also appreciate the fact that there are several tutors available to answer our questions on different forums, and I get to interact with other students worldwide on these forums and on other social media platforms.
