Professional and Career Development Loans (PCDL) are bank loans to pay for courses and training that help with your career or help improve your employability.
- You can borrow anything between £300.00 and £10,000.00 to help you fund up to two years of learning.
- Generally, the loan can be used to cover up to 80 percent of your course fees plus up to 100 percent of any related expenses.
- Like any loan, you will need to repay the money borrowed; the government will pay the interest on your loan while you're studying and for one month afterward.
- You repay the loan to the bank over an agreed period at a fixed rate of interest.
Full details of the scheme and application forms are available from any of the participating banks. Information can also be found via the National Careers service on 0800 100 900.
The School's learning provider number is 11169.
You should apply for a PCDL at least 3 months before your course starts to give the bank enough time to process your application.
