Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships 2022

A total of 15 scholarships are offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) to study one of our distance learning programmes

Background

The Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarships are being offered to citizens of specific low- and lower-middle income Commonwealth countries. The purpose of the scholarships is to contribute to the development needs of Commonwealth countries by providing training for skilled and qualified professionals in key development areas. The scholarships are offered under six key themes – those offered to the LSHTM MSc programmes by distance learning are offered under the “Strengthening health systems and capacity” theme.

Award

Each scholarship will cover full Master's degree tuition fees.

Eligibility

To be eligible for a Commonwealth Distance Learning Scholarship, candidates should:

  • Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person
  • Be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country
  • Have an offer to study on one of the eligible programmes (see below)
  • Be unable to afford to study the programme without this scholarship.

Applying and Deadlines

This is a two-part process.

Part one: You must apply and receive an offer of admission to one of the following programmes before you can apply to the Commonwealth scholarship:

Part two: Once you have received an offer, apply to the Commonwealth Scholarships through their online application system.

Before applying, please be sure to read the Eligibility Information on the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission website.

Applications must be submitted no later than 18:00 (GMT) on Tuesday 15 March 2022.

Please note: The following supporting documentation must be included to your scholarship application no later than 17:00 (GMT) on Tuesday 5 April 2022 in order for your application to be eligible:

  • At least one reference – submitted directly by the referee onto the online application system
  • An offer letter for one of the above MSc programme in the 2022-23 academic year – uploaded to the online application system
  • Full transcripts detailing all your higher education qualifications (with certified translations if not in English) – uploaded to the online application system.
