Applications deadlines

London-based Master's degrees

The final closing date for taught Master’s applications for entry in the 2019-20 academic year is as follows:

  • 2 August 2019 by 23:59 (BST) for international applicants requiring a Tier 4 Student Visa, and
  • 23 August 2019 by 23:59 (BST) for applicants not requiring a Tier 4 Student Visa.

We recommend that you submit applications as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Programmes may close after an application has been received but before an application has been considered.

Distance learning Programmes (MSc, PG Diploma and PG Certificates)

  • 30 September 2019 for Public Health, Demography and Health, Epidemiology, Global Health Policy and Infectious Diseases.
  • 31 October 2019 for Clinical Trials

MPhil/PhD Programmes

Applications for MPhil/PhD research degrees are considered throughout the year. However, there are only three fixed entry points when candidates are permitted to register. These entry points are on the first day of each academic term.  Each entry point has a corresponding application cut-off date:

APRIL 2019 ENTRY

  • 25 January 2019 by 23:59 for 24 April 2019 entry for ALL students, including those who require a Tier 4 visa and those who do not.

SEPTEMBER 2019 ENTRY

  • 3 June 2019 by 23:59 for 23 September 2019 entry for ALL students, including those who require a Tier 4 visa and those who do not.

JANUARY 2020 ENTRY

  • 4 October 2019 by 23:59 for 13 January 2020 entry for ALL students, including those who require a Tier 4 visa and those who do not.

What do the cut-off dates mean?

If you submit a complete application by a cut-off date, we will start to process this for the next entry point (unless you have specified a later start date). The above deadlines also apply to LSHTM staff.

If you are applying for funding via non-LSHTM funding, please submit your application to LSHTM for your desired entry point regardless of whether you have received a decision about your funding, as late applications will be processed for the next entry. You can defer a place that is offered to you for the next entry point if you need to wait to hear about a funding decision.

Deadline for responding to your offer

Applicants are required to respond to their Offer of Admissions within 28 days of receipt, or their place will be released and the offer automatically declined.

DrPH

Applications for the DrPH programme are considered throughout the year but there is only one fixed entry point which is at the start of the autumn term.

  • 3 June 2019 by 23:59 for 23 September 2019 entry for ALL students, including those who require a Tier 4 visa and those who do not.

Registry will respond to you with a decision about this entry by 16 August 2019 at the latest.
